Sai Moon-Kin is a rich man who tries to please many women. When he marries off his son, who has a mental disability, he becomes attracted to his new daughter-in-law. But he doesn’t know she is the evil Mirage Woman, who has magical powers to drain people’s life force.
To protect his daughter Ximen Rou (played by Loretta Lee) from a dangerous man, wealthy Ximen Jian (Elvis Tsui) tells her to dress like a boy and go to school. While studying, she meets a scholar named Huadao. They become friends, but Huadao later discovers her true identity as a girl, and he falls in love with her and begins chasing her romantically.
Meanwhile, Ximen Jian is known for his strange and excessive desires. After marrying off his foolish son to a beautiful woman, he begins to lust after his own daughter and his concubines. However, he doesn’t know that one of the women, a beautiful concubine, is actually a sorceress named Magic Ji (played by Shu Qi) in disguise.
Magic Ji uses dark magic and a practice called “yin-yang harvesting” to take life energy from men. One by one, she kills Ximen Jian’s concubines and plans to drain all of his energy as well. Eventually, Ximen Jian and his daughter discover her evil plan and try to stop her. This leads to a final battle between them.
