The story begins with an FBI team following a woman named Abby into a closed pet clinic at night to arrest her.

But everything started 48 hours earlier, when Abby was a happy wife and mother. She was enjoying Halloween with her little daughter.

Abby is a former soldier. Now, she works at a pet clinic along with her husband. One day, she gets a phone call from Jeremy, a soldier who was in her old army team. He tells her that their other teammate, Samuel, has died by suicide.

This brings back memories of a mission they were part of 8 years ago, in 2002, in Southern Afghanistan. After that mission, all of them were kicked out of the army.

Abby goes to Samuel’s funeral, but later, she receives a shocking video. In it, her husband is tied up and has been kidnapped. Someone gives her instructions — if she wants her husband to live, she must do exactly what they say.

Abby had never told her husband what happened during that mission in Afghanistan. Samuel also kept it secret from his wife.
